Growth of Online Degree Programs in the Philippines

Online degree programs were first offered in the Philippines in the early 90's during which there was a recorded continuous growth in the number of state and private institutions in the country. Also during this period was when the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), one of the three government organizations handling the education system in the country, encouraged many educational institutions to offer distance learning programs. This move was triggered by the increasing population and rise of tertiary enrolments over the past years.

1990's – Rise of Open Universities

One of the well-recognized Higher Education Institution (HEI) offering online degree programs in the country is the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), which was established in 1995. OPOU is the pioneer of open learning and distance education in the Philippines . Another prominent open university in the country is the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Open University (PUPOU). PUPOU began offering online degree courses in 1990. The Asian Institute for Distance Education (AIDE) is one of the only four government-recognized distance learning providers in the country offering full academic degrees. Other pioneers of online degree programs are the University of Santo Tomas (UST), Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) through the e-Learning Access Program, and Dela Salle University (DLSU). The online programs offered by these online universities include undergraduate programs, graduate certificate programs, post-baccalaureate programs, masters program, and doctoral programs.

2000's – Technological Advancements in HEIs

The eLearning market starts to emerge in the Philippines in the early 2000's. However, the online courses offered by that time are limited only to certificate and vocational training. The government agency that helps facilitate these online programs is the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Today, TESDA is offering various online courses in the fields of IT, Tourism, Electronics, Automotive, HVAC, and Agriculture under the so-called Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Although these programs only provide Diploma and Certificate courses, TESDA has ladderization programs from these courses to the degree courses.

At the turn of the millennium, internet technology starts to gain momentum in the education system of the Philippines. This technological milestone gives way to the emergence of more public and private HEIs offering online courses. According to a study, the number of internet users increased by about 291% during the period of 2000-2006, which is equivalent to 7.82 million people. According to Philippines ICT Statistics Portal, the mobile phone subscription was more than doubled from 2006 to 2011 and the fixed broadband subscription was more than quadrupled within the same time frame. According to, various public and private websites have also surfaced to provide online programs and services to students in the higher education. Among of these institutions are the Advanced Science and Technology Institute, Kodiko Online,, Education for Life Foundation,, FAPENET, Gurong Pahinugod, and

2010's – High Economic Growth Impacts Higher Education Programs

According to Business World Online, there are nearly 2,300 HEIs in the Philippines and 1,259 of them were offering business degrees in 2012. According to CHED, tertiary enrolment reached 3.3 million in the same year. Based on, there are lots of postgraduate courses in the Philippines that can be taken online from various public and private HEIs today. These are online courses in education, management and public administration, agriculture, media and communication, health and allied sciences, computer studies, business, and architecture and engineering.

The Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) can be considered as one of the major breakthroughs in improving the offerings of online degree programs in the Philippines. Under this program, students aiming for bachelor's degree can complete their studies in about a year or so and they also have the option to take the program online from the accredited online colleges and universities.

Fueled by the growing economy, more and more HEIs are offering online degree courses to both Filipino and international students across the country today. And with education programs offered by TESDA and CHED, it is expected that online degree programs in the country will continue to experience more growth in the coming years.

The Toxic Academic Work Environment – What Damage Results to the People Who Work in Toxicity?

Can you be damaged by working in a toxic academic environment? As you're answering this question, know that by toxic, I do not mean chemicals, asbestos, and the like. Toxic, as we will use it in this article, is defined as hostile, stress-filled, mean-spirited, cold, exclusionary places. If you have never been to a college or university, then you may think that this could not possibly describe an academic environment. Unfortunately, sometimes it does.

The damage that can result from working and "living" in a toxic academic work environment is staggering, not just to us but to all of those around us. For most academics, since our work is a huge part of our life and it's not 8 to 4, 8 to 5, or whatever that funny little slot is that people talk about. For many professors, it's not uncommon to work seven days a week. It's why when our environment does become toxic it's very difficult to just shut the door as some people might suggest. We can not just walk out of the office and leave the 'poison' there.

Here are some of the categories where damage occurs when toxic academic work environments exist. I will discuss these four in the rest of the article.

  • Individuals
  • Colleagues (the good ones)
  • Colleagues (the not-so-good ones)
  • Students

Individuals: The individuals who may be hurt include the faculty members, staff, and administrators who are directly involved. However, other people in our families also suffer. Many times in 'higher ed' families, there's more than one academic in the family. But other times when only one person works at a college or university, the other person works in an environment that when the work day is over and he / she goes home, that's the end of it. Period. They clocked out. Not only is it the end of the job for that day, but they do not have to think about it again until the next day. This is not true for college faculty members. Not only does their work come home with them, but the negativity that they experienced in their toxic environment may come right home with them as well. Certainly the pain comes with them and it's difficult to block that out (just ask my husband).

Good Colleagues: Toxic academic environments take a toll on your 'good' colleagues. You'll begin to see people (including yourself) get headaches, become sick, have maladies that just 'hang on,' etc. You will often notice that the good colleagues begin to lose that collegial feeling. It's very sad to watch (and experience).

Not-so-Good Colleagues: The bad colleagues, ie, the ones who may be contributing to the toxicity, often get even worse. If they were sort of "bad" (difficult, mean, condescending, racist) before or if they were somewhat bullying and uncivil before, they get even worse and more hateful. This may be because they've been emboldened and / or it may be because they have begun to enlist allies.

Students: Departments and programs often start to lose students, for example. Many, many students have lots of options. Students, particularly once they get into a major, do not want to be in a department where clearly the people hate each other. They want to be in a department where they feel a collegial atmosphere – not only among the faculty and staff, but also that includes them. When toxicity is clearly present, you will start to lose students, because there's no way they can thrive in that kind of an environment. Other times, you will have disconnected students. If you are at an institution where the students do not have as many choices, and so they're kind of "stuck" there, then they may very welcome come to class or campus, but then they disengage as quickly as possible. None of us like that. We like students who are engaged, not just in the classroom, but after class.

You may be thinking of other categories where damage results from a toxic work environment. Or maybe you have read this article thinking, that can not possibly be true, however,

An Overview of Modern Technology

Present-day technology has changed development in a lot of ways. People have often been on a way of movement, yet on account of technology. Some of the technology progresses has turned into a necessity of life because of their significance and our dependence on them.

One of the regions where present-day technology is most essential is in the domain of correspondence. Long back, speaking with people outside your prompt area was a troublesome procedure, requiring correspondence by physical letter and a much measure of tolerance. The Internet has made long separations practically straightforward, permitting clients to relate with people on the opposite side of the planet in a moment. Technology has additionally expanded our availability, with mobile phones and different gadgets.

Another territory where PCs and the Internet have turned out to be critical is in training. PCs can store a lot of information in a little space; diminishing whole give up work of refer to books down to a solitary CD of information. The Internet likewise serves as an enormous asset for learning, connecting educational locales together and permitting the inquisitive to scan for any subject possible. A solitary PC could store many instructive diversions, sound, and visual lessons and also give access to an abundance of learning for understudy. In the classroom, virtual whiteboards can supplant boards, permitting instructors to give intuitive substance to understudy and play instructive movies without the need to set up a projector.

Technology has likewise affected the human services industry. Advances in symptomatic instruments permit specialists to distinguish sicknesses and conditions early, expanding the odds of an effective treatment and sparing lives. Progressions in medications and antibodies have likewise demonstrated greatly powerful, about killing infections like measles, diphtheria, and smallpox that once brought about huge plagues. Cutting edge pharmaceutical likewise permits patients to oversee constant conditions that were once incapacitating and life-undermining, such as, diabetes and hypertension. Innovative advances in solution have likewise developed life expectancies and enhance personal satisfaction for people around the world.

Technology has likewise expanded efficiency. The capacity of PCs to settle complex numerical conditions permits them to accelerate any undertaking requiring estimation or different figuring. PC displaying of physical impacts can spare time and cash in any assembling circumstance, giving specialists the capacity to renovate structures, vehicles or materials to give essential information on execution before prototyping. Indeed, even in the workplace environment, the capacity of arranged PCs to share and control information can speed a wide assortment of errands, permitting representatives to unite proficiently for most extreme efficiency.

Thus, the role of technology is essential for all of us.

Differentiation 101 – A Basic Guide to Differentiated Instruction

Differentiation. Differentiated Curriculum. Differentiated Instructional Strategies. At conferences, parent gatherings, and curriculum planning meetings, the term differentiation is thrown around like a Frisbee. As a newly hired teacher, I recall nodding my head and blinking blankly whenever the term was whizzed at me. The definition of differentiation is taken for granted; thus, no one ever pauses to tell what differentiation means. This article will do just that.

In a nutshell, differentiation – which is sometimes called differentiated instruction – refers to a method of curriculum planning and instruction that offers learners a wide variety of ways to acquire understanding. The following bullet points offer a quick and dirty guide to differentiated instruction. These bullets outline the three elements of the curriculum that can be differentiated as well as the three learner characteristics that can be taken into account while differentiating your instruction.

The following elements of your curriculum can be differentiated

CONTENT: Content is considered the "stuff" of the curriculum. This "stuff" includes what the instructor plans for learners to understand as well as the ways the learner will gain access to the desired knowledge and skills. To differentiate according to Content, an instructor can do the following:

  • Provide text on multiple levels of difficulty
  • Use part-to-whole or whole-to-part instruction
  • Use manipulatives, Internet resources, audio recordings, and other non-conventional "text"

PROCESS: Process refers to the activities in which learners engage in order to gain understanding of the subject. A conventional way to think about Process is to consider it as the things learners do in the class and for homework. To differentiate according to Process, the instructor can do the following:

  • Vary amount of support given by the instructor
  • Give learners choices about how they express what they learn
  • Provide varied assignment options at differing levels of difficulty or based on learner interests

PRODUCT: Products are the end result, the things learners create to demonstrate what they understand and / or are able to do after they have moved through the curriculum. Some examples of learning products are essays, poems, quiz / test answers, presentations, blogs, websites, skits, videos, plays, and other dramatizations. To differentiate according to Product, the instructor can do the following:

  • Provide rubrics (a grid showing how learners will be assessed) for assignments
  • Vary types of resources learners can use in preparing products (text, Internet resources, books, encyclopedias, interviews, tours, pamphlets, etc)
  • Allow learners to design a product around essential learning goals-to express what they know in varied ways (eg speaking, writing, drawing)

The following are three learner characteristics instructors can take into account when planning to differentiate:

READINESS: Readiness refers to the understanding and preparedness learners have at the start of study. Because learners vary in preparation and knowledge (in other words, what they bring to the classroom and to specific assignments), they require different levels of difficulty. To differentiate according to Readiness, instructors can do the following:

  • Add student teach-backs to assignments
  • Add or remove peer conferencing, instruction, and models for a task
  • Make the task more or less familiar (eg by adding or removing information and resources)

INTERESTS: Interests, in terms of differentiation, can be thought of as the learner's "academic taste buds." Because learners have different taste buds, instructors can align curriculum with topics or pursuits that satisfy the palate of each learner. To differentiate according to Interest, instructors can do the following

  • Provide a wide variety of choices for topics and products
  • Provide a variety of avenues for learner exploration of a topic
  • Give learners a choice of tasks and products, including learner-designed options

LEARNING PROFILE: Just as the height and shape of students vary (even within the same grade), so do their learner profiles. No matter how students are grouped, each group will have learners with different interests, levels of readiness, learning styles, talents, and standardized test scores. One understanding of learning styles is Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. Gardner's theory delineates the following categories: Bodily-kinesthetic, Interpersonal, Verbal-linguistic, Logical-mathematical, Naturalistic, Intrapersonal, Visual-spatial, and Musical. To differentiate according to Learning Profile, instructors can do the following:

  • Provide choice of spaces for activities (eg desks, couches, and floor seating)
  • Present information in a variety of ways (video, handout, lecture, peer-to-peer talks)
  • Provide learning opportunities in various modes (musical, visual display, movement and manipulatives)

Differentiation helps instructors engineer curriculum that reaches the widest number of learners possible. With the above guide highlighting the primary tenets of differentiation, you can approach your curriculum-and the next faculty meeting-with a basket full of knowledge and tools to differentiate in all of your curriculum.

Paul McCartney – The Beatles – A Biography

James Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942 in Liverpool. He was the first son of Mary and James McCartney. His brother, Peter Michael McCartney, was born eighteen months later. Paul's mother was a midwife, who died from breast cancer in 1955 when Paul was just 14, this troubled Paul deeply. Paul's father was a cotton salesman during the day for A. Hannay Co., and a jazz musician with Jim Mac's Jazz Band at night. Paul did very well in school. He passed his 11-Plus examination in 1957 and entered the Liverpool Institute, a very popular high school. There, he met a younger student by the name of George Harrison whom Paul later brought with him into John's group, The Quarrymen. As a child, Paul showed no particular interest in music. Both he and his brother were sent to piano lessons, but these did not last long. Then he was given a trumpet by an uncle, and he began to teach himself. His musical talent probably came from his father. Of all The Beatles, Paul's family was the only one with any musical background or interest. At the Liverpool Institute, Paul became popular. His dealings with young girls, however, had little effect on his grades. He was a top student, but he soon found that school was interfering with his social life. Like John and the others, Paul was influenced by early rock songs. Still, it was Elvis that formed the greatest impression on him. Paul first met John through a mutual friend, Ivan Vaughan. Vaughan invited Paul to see The Quarrymen play at the Wooton Parish. c The Quarrymen, and Paul accepted. Paul's first public performance with The Quarrymen was at a dance at the Conservative Club in Broadway. Paul was supposed to play a solo that night, but for some reason, he never did. What he did do after the dance was play John some songs that he had written himself. John was impressed and later tried to write songs of his own. Neither wrote anything of much value, but the two began collaborating, each egging the other on to better works. From that day until the end of The Beatles, they never stopped, and together they became "Lennon & McCartney," one of the most renowned song writing duos of the twentieth century. Once they had become established songwriters, Paul and John would often write independently of one another. John's songs were more raw rock 'n' roll, while Paul's tended to be more romantic. Songs like "Yesterday," "Michelle," and "Lovely Rita" are typical McCartney songs. An early agreement between Paul and John assured that all Beatle songs that either wrote would bear the trademark of "Lennon & McCartney." Paul met Jane Asher at a pop concert at Albert Hall. She was then seventeen. The Radio Times asked her to go along to the concert to give her impressions of The Beatles. After the concert, she was invited back to their hotel for a drink. That night Paul and Jane spent the evening together. "I realized she was the girl for me," Paul once said. Jane, however, summed up her impression of the boys by exclaiming, "They could not believe I was a virgin." Paul wanted Jane to give up acting to be with him constantly. She refused. This led to a number of arguments, but Paul was still attracted to her. It was for Jane Asher that he wrote "I'm Looking Through You" and "And I Love Her." Marriage seemed inevitable, and on Christmas Day, 1967, Paul asked Jane to be his wife. She accepted (Bio ..) (Paul Mc …)

In 1969 rumors started to spread that Paul was dead. Rumors of the death were exaggerated. No one knows for sure where the "Paul is Dead" rumor began. Some rumors were spread that Paul had been dead for three years and that he had been replaced by a look a like. Beatles fans everywhere looked for clues that were left intentionally in lyrics, record covers and pictures that would reveal the truth about the hoax.

The idea that Paul McCartney was dead for three years surfaced during the release of Abbey Road in September of 1969. The first indications of the hoax were printed in two Midwestern College newspapers (Iowa's Drake University Times-Delphic and Northern Illinois University's Northern Star). Russel Gibb, a Detroit radio jock for WKNR FM read about the story in the college newspaper articles and invented new "clues" for listeners. Listeners called the radio station and claimed to be able to hear secret messages by playing Revolution # 9 and other songs backwards. A walrus is a Greek symbol for death. In the song Glass Onion, John Lennon sings, "well here's another clues for you all, the walrus is Paul," which connected Paul to his "death".

According to one myth. Paul left the recording studio in anger, following a fight with the rest of the group. Paul stormed out of the studio, jumped into his car and sped off (I Buried P …). All of the clues point to a car accident that reportedly happened prior to Paul leaving the studio in anger. On November 10, 1966 a British newspaper reported that on Wednesday morning at five o'clock someone was involved in a car accident, according to the newspaper the accident was so bad that the body could not be identified in any way. In A Day In The Life, John Lennon sings, "he blew his mind out in a car, he did not notice that the light had changed, a crowd of people stood and stared, they'd seen his face before, nobody was really sure if he was from the house of god (in the song god sounds like Paul) (I Buried P …)

Many visual clues were on the Abbey Road LP. The media began reporting the joke as a fact as soon as it was released. The rumors began to grow larger. In October of 1969 McCartney himself made a public appearance in which he stated the breaking up of The Beatles. In a 1970 Rolling Stone interview with John Lennon, Lennon was asked if any of the hidden clues were supposed to have any meaning. Lennon replied, "No. That was bull. The whole thing was made up."

The Beatles enjoyed attention. They were jokers; maybe they were just having a little fun with their fans. Some people today still believe that Paul is dead because of the many convincing clues. No evidence shows that any of the members were behind the hoax. No one can prove that it did or did not happen. The fact of the matter is that Paul is alive today. He is currently married to an ex-model. He is touring the concert world. And he is still a Living legend.

Learning English in the Internet Era

More and more people today are learning English, and this is due, in part, to the influence of the World Wide Web. The 'Internet Era' has made it almost a necessity to know English at least somewhat. It has also made it easier to learn the language, even if access to quality English instruction is not readily available.

English Is the Universal Language Online

If you spend any length of time on the Internet, you will find that it seems to be designed for people who can read English. While many sites will have translations available, specifically internationally known sites and sites owned by international companies, the everyday website or blog that you might land on in your search is going to contain information in English. Translation programs may be available, but reading the site in English is going to be the best way to get your information.

Why is this? Perhaps English has grown to be the language of the Internet due to its prevalence in the economic world. That is the language of money and technology, two of the things that drive the Internet. The people with the money speak it, at least as a secondary language, so by posting things in English online, you will reach the vast majority of your potential market.

English Can Be Learned Online

For those who do not know language, this may seem discouraging. However, the Internet Era has also sparked a change in the way people can learn it. It is now entirely possible to learn English online, even if you have a very small budget.

One way to learn is to enroll in an English as a Second Language course. These courses vary tremendously in their effectiveness and cost. The best programs are going to cost quite a bit, but if you need to learn English for your job, this may be the best option. These online courses typically have reading, writing, and listening components. Some may require a microphone so you can speak the language as well.

If enrolling in an online course is out of your budget, you can learn English for free online with a little creativity and persistence. There are multiple websites that will post grammar rules, vocabulary, and learning exercises for you to access without paying anything. Even if you are enrolled in a course, these sites can help you prepare for tests and projects.

The Internet is also full of games that can make learning the new language fun. This will help encourage students to stick with their decision to learn the language. Again, many of these programs are offered free of charge.

The World Wide Web also provides English learners with the chance to interact with native speakers on a regular basis. Forums, chats, and online communities allow learners to practice written English in a non-threatening environment. Surfing the Internet can help learners practice reading English as well.

Considerations When Learning English Online

If you are going to use the Internet to help you learn, keep a few things in mind. First, many websites have content that is not written using proper grammar. Use websites as sources of conversational English information, not proper grammar.

If you choose to enroll in an online program, determine what dialect of English you want to learn. There are quite a few differences between British and American English, for example. Then, make sure the program has a good reputation before you pay anything. With so many free options available, you need to make sure you are getting your money's worth.

Finally, the computer will never substitute for personal conversations with native speakers. Once you have the basics down, find a way to converse with native speakers. You may even be able to use the computer for this by taking advantage of video chatting programs, but make sure you get the chance to practice what you have been learning.

Charlotte Gerson Speaks in Detail About The Gerson Therapy – A Priceless Encounter

When I discovered videos of Charlotte Gerson personally speaking about The Gerson Therapy and how it works, I jumped at the chance to see them all! I was surprised to not only learn in more detail what the therapy is and how it works, but also the shameful reasoning for the resistance to this therapy by the Medical Industry!

And she began speaking …

"Our patients get one glass of Carrot and Apple juice EVERY HOUR, 4 glasses of Green Vegetable Juice, plus one glass of orange juice to start the day, for a total of 13 glasses + 3 raw food meals EVERYDAY."

But wait a minute! Did not my food combining knowledge teach me that you're NOT supposed to EAT fruits and vegetable together? … MUCH LESS actually DRINK THEM TOGETHER IN A JUICE !! ???? …

… And as she divulged the therapy in detail, one false belief, after another crumbled! I finally relaxed, surrendered to her vast natural health knowledge, and started taking copious notes like a student in a college lecture hall! All with the undeniable feeling and knowing that I was truly blessed to be in the presence of a Natural Healing Master!

I later learned that apples were also in the "Green Juice" because they are high in potassium and pectin which make the vegetable juices more digestible. Diseased bodies need immediate access to the multitude of enzymes and nutrients present in the juices.

And she continued speaking …

"There are ONLY two causes of Chronic Disease … DEFICIENCY and TOXICITY!"

I thought to myself, "YES, that's EXACTLY the conclusion that I had drawn from my research !!!" … And then she continued to explain, the "deficiency" for her diseased patients is a deficiency of NUTRIENTS, and not only Oxygen, as I previously concluded. Pure Oxygen is definitely needed by the body, but in order to REBUILD and REPAIR the cellular tissue after MASSIVE DAMAGE, you MUST replace the deficient nutrients and enzymes in the body, and that's EXACTLY what this wonderful therapy does!

"Toxins are enzyme inhibitors, so they must be rapidly and continuously
removed with five Coffee Enemas EVERYDAY! "

… And the knowledge just kept pouring out …

"All drugs are Liver Toxic! Healing is the act of restoring the essential organs back to normal function."

By this definition, alone, each and every time you take ANY kind of drug … you are NOT participating in the "healing" process of your body because all drugs are toxic to the liver, which is definitely one of the essential organs! As Charlotte so well stated in her lecture,

"You can not HEAL with POISONS! "

Yet, our trusted physicians continue to recommend Chemotherapy, which, by definition, can NEVER "heal" YOU! Why is that? … Charlotte EVEN answers THAT question! I knew that the Pharmaceutical Industry controlled the Medical Industry, but I did not know that in California (and Charlotte says that other states are following suit) there is a LAW that says any licensed medical doctor who treats a patient for cancer without the use of chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery will lose his / her medical license and be fined $ 10,000! Is it ANY wonder why those are the ONLY FORMS OF TREATMENT OUR DOCTORS OFFER !!!! Their hands are literally tied! So, WE must take full responsibility for OUR OWN HEALTH, or join the multitudes of people in cemeteries across the country today, who chose to follow their "trusted" doctors recommendations!

Needless to say, the information shared by Charlotte Gerson at the Therapy Workshop is invaluable, and I am thrilled to be able to invite YOU to view the entire lecture series, which will surely change your life! Please, come and have great fun with me learning how to GET WELL and STAY WELL!

SAS Analytics Training – What You Need to Know

When looking for quality training, whether you want to improve your own knowledge or you want to send your employees on a course to improve productivity within the work place, there are a host of important factors that you have to take into consideration. One of these factors is identifying which course to use and how your company can benefit moving forward, or how you can increase your chances of securing a promotion or finding the job of your dreams moving forward.

SAS analytics training stands for statistical analysis system, which is a software solution used for advanced analytics within the work place. It is also used for data management solutions, business intelligence, predictive analysis and more. It can be a useful tool to help you manage your data more effectively and to help you grow your business in the future.

This software was originally developed many years ago in the United States and has increased in popularity with companies that are trying to manage their companies more effectively and seamlessly, by managing all their data with ease to reduce the risk of errors.

The SAS analytics training can provide learners with the ability to utilise the software effectively, making sure that they get the most out of the package to help the company grow and move forward. The software is capable of a number of things from manipulating data to retrieving data and altering data to mining data. Once a student learns how to use the programme effectively, they will be able to use the programme daily to manage the data within the company safely and effortlessly.

With the right SAS analytics training, team members are able to put their data choices into the system in a series of statements. The software then takes these statements and takes action, using the information provided to give the user the results they are looking for.

Companies investing in the software and providing their team members with SAS analytics training will see a return on their investment as the company runs smoother, data is available at your fingertips and you can then use the data to push your business forward.

There are some important factors you have to take into consideration whether you are paying for yourself to take a SAS analytics course or you are sending your team members for training to ensure success. The first is that you want to choose a proven academy with a high volume of happy students who have used and passed their course with good results.

You will want to ensure the SAS analytics training courses you are looking at cover all the basics you need your team members to know, helping your business grow moving forward.

Identify if the company you are considering for your SAS analytics training can provide you with online and in-class training. You may prefer your team members to spend a day or two at a training course, rather than leaving them to their own devices and assuming that they are taking the time to learn online.

Also ensure that the company you choose can come to your area, if they do offer in-class training and always double check to ensure that the courses are certified, giving you peace of mind and helping your team embers improve their own experience and knowledge.

The final step to choosing a SAS analytics training provider is to identify what companies they have worked with in the past and the price of their courses. Ideally you do not want to pay a too high a price, but at the same time, you do not want to exceed your training budget.

Workout Without Weights – A Special Forces Workout For a Strong and Compact Physique

I'd like to share a cool conditioning workout that I came up with a few months ago in order to get stronger and better conditioned in a short period of time. It incorporates the concept of "Ladders" found in Pavel Tstatsouline's book "Power to the People," In this book Pavel shares the training secrets of the Soviet commandos and athletes he used to train with that allowed the Russians to dominate other countries in the Olympics . This is really popular in the Marines and SEALS, and we use this type of training to get really high pure strength and strength endurance levels while still keeping up our long distance running.

What are ladders?

Basically you will pick an exercise and start at the "bottom" of the ladder doing anywhere from 1-5 reps. You will rest the same number of seconds as reps per set. So if I start doing 2 push ups, I would rest 2 seconds, do 4 push ups, rest 4 seconds etc until I reached a specified number. You want to try to do as many reps as possible without going to failure. This is different from a pyramid set in that you stop at the top of ladder in this workout, but I a pyramid set you will go up AND down. This is great for building muscle, but not for strength or muscle definition. Ladders are an excellent tool that can be applied to almost any workout plan. I absolutely love them.

My "Special Forces" workout Finisher

You will need access to a pull-up bar. You will be doing 3 "ladder super sets" of push-ups and pull-ups. This means you will complete one push-up ladder and then immediately transition to pull-ups without rest. After this "super set" (performing 2 exercises back to back), you will take 30-60 sec rest and then repeat at least 2 more times. Focus on getting perfect reps at a medium pace and stop before you feel like you can not do anymore. If I'm getting guys ready for the Marines or SEALS we will do the push up ladders from 2 reps to 14 reps going up by 2 reps at a time, and we do pull-ups from 1 rep to 7 reps going up by 1 rep at a time, and repeat this cycle 4 times. We do this as a bad ass finisher to a long ruck march or run pretty regularly and a lot of guys can max out at least 100 push-ups and 20 pull-ups for our PT tests.

Why this type of training builds a hard and "compact" physique

I love this workout because it combines a few key training principles into a single session. The ladder principle builds strength, stamina, and conditioning since a high volume of reps is accumulated in a short period of time, but your muscles do not get "pumped" because of the rest periods. By super setting pushing with pulling exercises I took advantage of making opposing muscle groups help each other out. Basically alternating pushing with pulling gives each muscle group a rest while at the same time telling the central nervous system to start connecting the neurons that fire the individual muscle fibers. Essentially doing pull-ups will start to help doing pull-ups and vice versa. Pretty cool! The more you compress the time frame of the workout, the more you will release fat burning hormones to make it a conditioning workout as well.

How I used this training method to double my regular pull-ups and master the One arm Pull-up

After doing this workout for the past 6 months I've increased my pull-up max from 20 to 40 reps, and push ups from 100 to 135 in 2 min. I also think it helped me to achieve one arm pull-ups, which I just mastered about a week ago (and which I'll do a post on soon!). Doing this type of high volume, low rep training with perfect form has similar effects to a power-lifting cycle. In fact, a ladder workout is basically an entire power lifting cycle compressed into a few minutes! The really cool thing is that I never feel sore any more from doing burnout sets, but my strength and conditioning level is still improving.

How to Obtain and Sell Event Tickets on eBay for Less than Wholesale

Here is another great way to earn extra income using eBay with very little up front money or effort. I have had several of my students concentrate solely on this money maker. Tickets for concerts, sporting events, airlines, etc. are always in demand and are super hot-selling items on eBay.

Due to the fact that you have a computer with internet access, you have a huge advantage over any traditional ticket broker. By using eBay, you can easily liquidate these tickets at a very nice profit without having to use any of the shady techniques of these brokers. Have you ever wondered when you attended a sold out concert or event where the scalpers got their tickets? Ticket brokers often employ homeless or jobless people off the street and give them a few dollars to sit in line for days for ticket placement. In return, these brokers would receive very good seats and make hundreds of dollars per transaction.

I have had students clear over $ 1,000 / month using the following technique to jump to the front of the line. The first step is to go to ticketmaster dot com and become a member. It is free. Once you are a member you will be notified of pre-sale opportunities in which you can purchase these very hard to get tickets. You need to log on immediately and place your order the minute the internet sale goes online. Normally, the maximum amount of tickets you can buy is six per transaction. Once you have placed your order you will receive confirmation of your seat number assignment at which point you can list them for sale on eBay.

Many people use inexpensive classified ads to purchase hot selling items on eBay. You can also use the classified ad technique to locate airline reward tickets or hot concert events which you can then sell on eBay for double or triple your investment.

This technique is called "flipping". You are buying a ticket and immediately reselling for a nice profit.

Note: Regarding concert tickets, please do your research prior to buying to make sure the concert is highly sought after and going to be sold out in order to maximize your profits. This is not mandatory because you can still sell tickets for a good profit even if the event is not sold out; but you will maximize your investment if the tickets are highly sought after.

In conclusion, join the eBay "Ticket Gold Rush". There is a never ending group of people who want the best seats and are willing to pay a premium for them. Selling tickets on eBay is a great way to supplement your income with minimal risk.
